The thousands who pressed against each other to listen to the teachings of Jesus were the social outcasts of their time.
These masses were the invisible.
They were part of the countless number of people who are lost in the shadows of great civilizations. They were the throwaways. They were seen as liabilities, burdens to society, but not to Jesus. He saw them as lights hidden under a bushel. He knew that there was something deep inside them waiting to come out, something beautiful, something breathtaking.
They were created by God to be luminous if only Jesus could make them see it.

because we are in the image of our creator. who was and is the ultimate artist.
we all tell ourselves lies about our own creativity. rather than focus on the area you are not creative in focus on where you are creative. ex: numbers, speaking, painting, writing, photography, etc.
my lie is that i lack inspirations, get stuck in a box or can’t get into the box, don’t know where to start or where to end.
here is the truth: i am is the last word in divine inspiration. he is the artist in me.
— Carl Jung
On the way home from church, we often ask each other, “Did you like the service today?” the question we should be asking instead is, “Were you attentive enough to the Holy Spirit for God to speak to you during the service today?”
The words of Ecclesiastes 5:1 come to mind: “Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong.”
Rory Noland, Thriving as an Artist in the Church
While all creation is to be valued, while everything that breathes is to be treated with respect, while the earth itself is a sacred stewardship, everything is not equal. You are not equal. You are human. You are given one life, and it translates into eternity.
